As part of our employee value proposition, alongside a range of great employment benefits, we aim to put on a minimum of three team building events per year. Our latest event was team bowling at Alabang Town Center. We were split into four teams and competed against each other for both bragging rights (and unbeknownst at the time) a small cash bonus for each member of the winning team (for laughs, the lowest scoring player also got a cash prize).
After bowling we moved onto dinner at TGI Fridays (a team favorite). Dinner was filled with lots of laughs, but little conversation, as we all took the time to fill up on steak, burgers, wings and fries! Healthy? No. Delicious? Absolutely!
However in all seriousness, regular team building events are a great way for me as a leader to catch up with our team in a less structured environment and get to know them on a more personal level. I feel as an organisation our team has solid foundations for open and honest communication, however there is always room for adjustments and improvement. Regular events like this one open up another channel for me and my team to communicate and we all have an awesome time whilst doing it. Here is to the next one!
